Mittler Bros. Hem Roll Set for Bead Rollers

Hemming folds the edge of a sheet-metal panel back over onto itself. It does two things at once: stiffens a thin panel along its edge, and turns a raw, sharp cut into a clean, safe, finished edge. These rolls run in a standard bead roller and form the hem in three progressive passes rather than one hard bend, which keeps the metal from cracking or distorting.

The three steps build the hem in sequence:

1. Step 1 forms the metal to 90°. Available in all-steel, or as a steel-upper / Nylatron-lower combo — the Nylatron lower won't leave tool marks, so it's the one to use on pre-finished or painted panels.
2. Step 2 forms it to 140°, again in all-steel or steel/Nylatron combo.
3. Step 3 rolls the metal flat to close the hem. Both rolls are steel.

Steel rolls are CNC-machined and heat-treated for long life; the Nylatron rolls are CNC-machined and designed to leave no marks on the work. All rolls are made in the USA. Standard roll sets measure 2-1/2" OD x 3/4" ID and fit all standard 1-1/8" throat bead rollers. Install with the MB stamp facing the machine.
