English wheel anvils (also called lower wheels or dies) set the curve your panel takes — the upper wheel presses the sheet against the anvil, and the anvil radius determines how tight or flat that shaping is. A range of radii lets you move from near-flat finishing passes to tight crowns without swapping machines.
