Flare Dies - these dies require a pre-drilled hole that you place the die in and can either be drawn together to form the flare with a draw-bar (for dies that have a center hole) or used in a press.

Punch and Flare Dies - this style of die incorporates a hardened and sharpened edge that punches a hole in the sheet metal before the die forms the flare, allowing you to both cut the hole and produce the flare in 1 easy step.
