Coachsmithing makes the patented OX Planishing Hammer — a lightweight, handheld planishing hammer designed by Allen Buresh after 45+ years restoring Ferrari, Porsche, Delahaye, Cobra, and Lotus coachwork. Designed and machined in-house in the USA.

The OX came out of one frustration: traditional handheld planishing hammers use hoop frames that are heavy, cumbersome, and hard to keep flat against a panel. The OX threw that out and went with a slapper-style design — light enough to fit in your palm, no hoop, no awkward alignment, used directly against body dollies or stationary anvils. The result replaces the "pick and file" finishing process entirely without thinning the metal.
